Maplewood 2024-25 Kindergarten Lottery

 

When will you be doing the lottery? 

The Kindergarten lottery for the 2025-26 school year will occur in mid February 2025. You must have attended an information session by February 11, 2025 to be eligible for the kindergarten lottery. You are welcome to attend an information session if you have missed the deadline, but you would only be eligible for any later drawings that may be necessary.

 

How many Kindergarten spots are available to be drawn in 2025-26? 

TBD.  There are typically over 150 total entries in the Kindergarten lottery each year.

 

How will I know if my child was drawn in the lottery?

If you do not receive a phone call, (or email) from our office by late March, unfortunately, you were not drawn for the 2025-26 Kindergarten lottery. You will receive a post card by mid April, informing you that you were not drawn.

 

Should I call the school office?

No need to call our school office, we will contact you by phone/email if your child was drawn in the Lottery.

 

I need to know if my child got in so I can register my child for our neighborhood school.

Register your child for your neighborhood school.  Do not wait to hear from us.  It is simple to withdraw your child from your neighborhood school, if you do happen to get “the call”. 

 

What if I have a child in the lottery for a grade other than kindergarten?

Lottery enrollment at all other grade levels is dependent on available space and therefore unpredictable. We only draw from the lotteries when a space becomes available. Once the sibling lottery pool is exhausted for a grade level, then we would draw from the general lottery pool. The vast majority our openings are from the Kindergarten lottery.
